It’s really easy for coaches to sway fans when they take over a new team. Identify the thing that fans find annoying about a team and say “We’re going to fix that.” For the Jets, one of many things was discipline, which new head coach Aaron Glenn has been verbal about addressing since taking over the team.

One of the main storylines for this defense, outside of their return to health, is that the Lions replaced Aaron Glenn with Kelvin Sheppard, following Glenn’s departure to the New York Jets. The Lions’ aggressiveness stood out, and Barnes agreed that Sheppard is a more aggressive than his predecessor.

Aaron Glenn played eight seasons with the New York Jets and became head coach last January. As a player, he was a Pro Bowl cornerback with a flair for fashion.

Since Aaron Glenn arrived in January, he has tried to remake the Jets in his image — tough and detail-oriented. That will be put to the test Saturday.

It’s unclear if new Jets coach Aaron Glenn will have his starters on the field at all during the preseason, which begins on Saturday night in Green Bay against the Packers. Glenn wasn’t ready to reveal his plans early in the week. But if the decision was up to quarterback Justin Fields, the play or not play decision wouldn’t be a tough one.
