President Joe Biden will visit New Orleans next week, with the city still reeling from the deadly New Year’s rampage in which an Army veteran plowed a truck into revelers.

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will travel to New Orleans next week to meet with families and community members impacted by the deadly attack on Bourbon Street.

President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden will travel to New Orleans on Monday. The Bidens, according to a White house announcement on Friday, “will grieve with the families and community members” affected by the Bourbon Street attack on New Year’s Day that left 15 people dead.

Critics of the proposed purchase were worried about potential job losses for American workers and the foreign ownership of a longtime American company.

President Joe Biden has rejected the nearly $15 billion proposed deal for Nippon Steel of Japan to purchase Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel.

U.S. Steel employs thousands of workers on Minnesota's Iron Range at Minntac in Mountain Iron and Keetac in Keewatin.
