A deflating 4-1 setback to the Chicago Cubs in the finale of the teams’ split doubleheader left the Brewers victims of a sweep and losers of two straight games for the first time since July 25 and 26.
Right-hander Jameson Taillon held the Brewers to one run in six innings to set the Cubs up for a 4-1 victory in Game 2. It was his first start back from a seven-week stint on the injured list with a strained right calf.

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans kenneled the Charleston RiverDogs (Rays), 8-2. Alfredo Romero pitched the first 3.1 innings and allowed one run on one hit. He did have trouble finding the zone as Romero walked five and hit one batter. He struck out five.
