Former UConn Huskies star Donovan Clingan is having a solid rookie season with the Portland Trail Blazers, averaging 5.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game on 53.

Donovan Clingan is averaging 5.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks on 53.7% shooting from the field in 31 games with the Trail Blazers.

Portland Trail Blazers rookie center Donovan Clingan left Tuesday night’s loss to the Brooklyn Nets late in the fourth quarter with a left ankle injury. Clingan came down awkwardly and went to the ground after attempting to block a shot with 1:15 remaining in the Blazers' 132-114 loss to the Nets at the Moda Center.

According to head coach Chauncey Billups, Clingan hurt his ankle. They don't know how bad it is yet, but any time missed is disappointing for him. Clingan had started to see an increase in minutes as of late. He had eclipsed 22 minutes of playing time in each of the last three games.

The Portland Trail Blazers will be without their rookie center, Donovan Clingan, for a while. The Blazers will re-evaluate their rookie center in a week after he suffered a mild left ankle sprain on Tuesday night against the Brooklyn Nets.
