Gemini Live can now handle tasks across Calendar and Keep apps, but soon, it will also be able to handle chores within the Phone and Messages apps, as well.

Google held its annual Made by Google showcase this week, during which it unveiled the latest Pixel phones and various new AI features. What it didn’t announce is a Gemini-powered smart home speaker, but it might have snuck one into the presentation as an easter egg.

The company previously approached OpenAI and Anthropic for similar discussions about using their technology to power Siri, and reportedly, Google has begun training a model that could run on Apple’s servers. Apple is not expected to make a decision about whether to bring on a partner for the Siri revamp for another several weeks.
