Israel on Sunday launched missiles at Gaza's al-Ahli Hospital, causing damage to its emergency unit and putting the only remaining operational hospital in northern Gaza inoperative, Al Jazeera reported.

At least 21 people, including children, were killed as the Israeli military vowed to expand its presence in the small coastal strip.

The attack on al-Ahli Hospital destroyed the emergency room, paramedic office, ambulance bay, blood bank and chemistry lab, medics there said.
