Silver Fire initially started 2:11 p.m. March 30 in Inyo County. After being active for two days, it has burned 1,611 acres. As of Tuesday evening, the fire crew managed to contain 60% of this wildfire. Investigations into its cause are still ongoing.

The Silver fire in Inyo County was 47% contained Monday evening. The Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, home of the world's oldest trees, is threatened by the blaze, authorities say.
