Jennings Creek fire in New York jumps containment line, residents evacuate
WARWICK, N.Y. — Some residents in Warwick, Orange County are being asked to evacuate due to the Jennings Creek wildfire. According to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, winds caused the fire to escape containment Saturday evening near Edgemere Avenue.
Ravena firefighters help battle Jennings Creek Wildfire
Ravena, N.Y. (WNYT) — When the call for help went out, the Ravena Fire Department sent a team down for a three-day deployment to the Jennings Creek Wildfire in Orange County. Six people went down from Wednesday to Friday.

Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus said crews would continue to "fight fire with fire" Thursday as they conducted controlled burns to remove debris from around the fire line, creating more visible fire and smoky conditions for the area, as well as an increase in total acreage of the fire.

The Village of Greenwood Lake said in a Facebook post, Residents on EDGEMERE Avenue are being requested to evacuate at this time. Residents north of 42 Edgemere may evacuate by their personal vehicles. However, Residents from 32 to 42 Edgemere will be provided transportation out by a Warwick Dial a Bus.
