Atlanta Falcons starting offensive tackle Kaleb McGary, the man tasked with guarding the blindside of left-handed starting quarterback Michael Penix, was carted off the practice field on Wednesday with a leg injury, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter.
FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons starting right tackle Kaleb McGary went down on the practice field Wednesday and was carted off for further examination. McGary appeared to injury his left leg. The team huddled up around McGary before he was taken off.
Unfortunately for Penix, he and the Falcons received a double dose of bad news on Wednesday. Starting right tackle Kaleb McGary was carted off the field at practice with what the Falcons suggested was a lower left leg injury; the team also announced that McGary, a mainstay in the Falcons’ lineup since debuting in 2019, will undergo an MRI.
