SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT- It was an “awesome” day at the Little League World Series. That was a word used often by the Little Leaguers and players with the New York Mets and Seattle Mariners to describe their experience Sunday.
The Mets were greeted at the airport in Williamsport on Sunday by plenty of enthusiastic young fans and connected with teams from all over the world.
Mason Mitani, Crawford and Logan Brokaw combined to allow just a single run, five hits and three walks while striking out seven. Hawai'i didn't rely on anyone to pitch too many innings, which means some of the arms should be fresher as the tournament progresses.

Sunday's game will be played in front of Little League World Series players at Journey Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field
The eyes of the baseball world will be on Williamsport, Pennsylvania Sunday, not only because the best from the world of Little League will take the diamond in Lamade and Veteran's Stadiums, but because MLB presents its annual Little League Classic in prime time.
