One person was killed Friday when a small plane crashed while taking off from Bangor International Airport. The pilot who died was the sole occupant of the aircraft, Bangor fire Chief Geoffrey Low told the Press Herald in a phone call Friday.

Bangor Fire Chief Geoffrey Low told the BDN the crash happened around 1:20 p.m. The plane, a Cessna 185F, was taking off at the time of the crash.
