U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says a Maine police officer arrested by immigration authorities has agreed to voluntarily leave the country

Gerardo Ortiz Henriquez, 24, of Portland died while riding on the back of a Lime e-scooter on Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at Holladay Street. The operator of the scooter, who hasn’t been identified publicly, was seriously hurt in the crash and taken to a hospital. Police initially described the two men as pedestrians.

The hit-and-run crash left the motorcyclist with serious injuries and demolished his bike. The driver told police he "(expletive) up."

Police fatally shot a woman in South Gate on Monday afternoon, hours after she was allegedly involved in a shooting at a Huntington Beach business that left a man hospitalized.

Police say two other men who also opened fire in the bar remained at large, but officials didn't disclose further details about them.

The officer allegedly contacted the women to flirt with them after getting their contact information from police databases.

A 36-year-old golfer went into cardiac arrest Sunday evening after being struck by lightning at a Morris County golf course, police said. It’s the second person to be struck by lightning on a golf course in New Jersey this summer, after a lightning strike killed a 28-year-old man in Sussex County in July.
