ROME (AP) — President Donald Trump will be among more than 50 heads of state and other dignitaries attending Saturday’s funeral for Pope Francis, where he’ll personally pay his respects to the Roman Catholic leader who pointedly disagreed with him on a variety of issues.

On the last day of public viewing ahead of Pope Francis's funeral, tens of thousands of people lined up to see him.

Roger Yu, a gay man from the Philippines who abandoned plans to become a priest, said he was in Italy to pay homage to Pope Francis, a spiritual leader he saw as an inspiring supporter of the LGBTQ community.

Among the first in line were pilgrims from Portugal and El Salvador who live in Milan, Italy, and people from Spain.

A video showing a Holy Week procession at the Santa Maria de Gracia church in Cartagena, in the Murcia region of Spain, was shared on social media with false captions saying that it showed satanic rituals at Pope Francis’ funeral.
