A combative prosecutor ordered cops to turn off their body cameras while arresting her at a Rhode Island restaurant. Alcohol may have been a factor.

The Rhode Island Police Chiefs Association has released a statement on the state’s body-worn camera policy following the arrest of a Rhode Island special assistant attorney general.  Devon Flanagan, a special assistant attorney general with Attorney General Peter Neronha’s office,

I’m an AG. I’m an AG,” Flanagan said, to which the officer yelled, “Good for you. I don’t give a (expletive). Let’s go.”

Keith Hoffmann has become the first candidate to formally announce they are running to be Rhode Island's next attorney general in the 2026 election. Until about three weeks ago, Hoffmann was chief of policy for the term-limited Attorney General Peter Neronha who, he says, encouraged him as far back as a year ago to consider running for the job.

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha is set to announce additional action against the Trump Administration on Monday.
