Gunther will put the title on the line on the October 7 episode of WWE RAW. “The Ring General” has rejected Sami Zayn’s challenge to a match for the World Heavyweight Championship multiple times in recent weeks.

After weeks of ducking his former WrestleMania rival, GUNTHER finally and accepted Sami Zayn's challenge for a World Heavyweight title match during "WWE Raw."

Sami Zayn and Gunther met face-to-face in the ring on the September 30th episode of WWE Raw and Gunther finally agreed to face Zayn after weeks of Zayn asking for the bout.

Zayn, who had beaten GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania XL earlier this year, has been petitioning to be the next in line for the World Heavyweight Championship. Despite being one of the few people to defeat GUNTHER ever in WWE, Zayn was still considered unworthy by this year’s King of the Ring.

Sami Zayn will face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship on RAW next week. Their rivalry intensified after Sami repeatedly challenged Gunther and mocked his previous loss. Gunther finally accepted the match after attacking Sami.

Sami Zayn picked up a victory over Ludwig Kaiser on Monday's WWE Raw, leading to WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther to confront Zayn. Gunther was dressed to wrestle, and said Ontario, California was the perfect place for a match. He said he had seen enough out of Zayn, but his answer was still "no."

Ahead of WWE's Bad Blood PLE, the buildup continued for the mega event as Sami Zayn was granted the chance to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. The Judgement Day defeated LWO and beat down the Terror Twins Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley.
