The storm is expected to "move well east of Bermuda and across the open waters of the subtropical North Atlantic," the National Hurricane Center said.

Tropical Storm Fernand has formed in the Atlantic Ocean southeast of Bermuda, forecasters said Saturday. Fernand is the sixth named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, and it comes on the heels of Hurricane Erin, which formed in a similar area on Aug. 15.

Fernand was a tropical storm in the Sargasso Sea Saturday afternoon Eastern time, the National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory. Fernand is the sixth named storm to form in the Atlantic in 2025.
