TCU head coach Sonny Dykes has been pretty successful in season-opening games as he has only lost two season openers since 2014. Dykes has built a reputation as

TCU’s non-conference slate also includes hosting No. 16 SMU, a playoff team last season and Dykes’ former team, on Sept. 20. The conference opener follows at reigning champ No. 11 Arizona State, before hosting Colorado and going to No. 17 Kansas State to reach the midpoint of the season.

With sophomore Markis Deal sidelined most of camp, TCU needed someone to step up at nose tackle, and Lingren answered the call. The junior is massive at 6-foot-5, 305 pounds, but he showed he was more than a big body with improved pass rushing techniques and being strong against the offensive line at the point of attack.

The Horned Frogs lack upper-level NIL money, but their staff does a very good job identifying value. Overall, 14 of TCU's regular 22 starters are former transfers.
