Flossie has weakened to a tropical storm off Mexico’s southwestern Pacific coast with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph

Barry, the second named storm of this year's Atlantic hurricane season, became a tropical depression by Sunday night, when it made landfall shortly before 11 p.m. ET. It made landfall over Mexico's east coast about 15 miles south-southeast of Tampico, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami.

The hurricane center said early Wednesday morning, July 2, Flossie is located about 315 miles south-southeast of Cabo San Lucas with maximum sustained winds near 115 mph with higher gusts. The hurricane is moving toward the west-northwest,
