Maryland Democratic lawmakers expressed disappointment after President Donald Trump's budget bill passed Congress.

Republican Rep. Addison McDowell of Bermuda Run said on X: "I just voted to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill, just in time for Independence Day! This bill is the course correction our country needs, and it will soon be the law of the land."

The final version of the bill will allow workers to deduct up to $25,000 in tips and up to $12,500 ($25,000 in the case of a joint return) in overtime, but the tax law change is temporary and ends Dec.
