New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced "Opera for All" Thursday. It's a long-term partnership between the city and the opera.

The mayor, with a video filmed at the Metropolitan Opera House, joins the Met in announcing a program to give away 70,000 tickets a year.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani has announced "Opera for All," a partnership with the Met Opera that will release 10,000 free tickets each month during the 2026-27 season.

Long-term partnerships with The Met Opera will give residents a chance to get free tickets in up-coming seasons.

The "Opera for All" lottery will be for New Yorkers who haven't attended a performance at the Met since 2019.
