A popular local restaurant is preparing to close its doors after a quarter century.

Luxury retail brick-and-mortar stores continue to crumble. Saks 5th Avenue parent company Saks Global announced Thursday that it will be shuttering all but 12 of its Saks OFF 5TH locations nationwide.

Saks Global, the parent company of Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, is closing most of its Saks Off 5th and Neiman Marcus Last Call locations, including several here in Maryland. The company said it will also wind down the saksoff5th.

OREGON – Bi-Mart says it will close its Cascade Farm and Outdoor chain of stores this spring. The chain includes five stores across Oregon, including one in Coos Bay. In a press release, the company said the decision was made by employee owners to strengthen Bi-Mart’s financial position and plan for future growth.

Closing sales are expected to begin this weekend as parent company Saks Global continues to work through its Chapter 11 bankruptcy process. Saks Global, owner of luxury retail chains Saks 5th Avenue and Neiman Marcus,
