Sydney will host the 2027 Rugby World Cup final, 24 years after England upset the Wallabies at the harbour city's Stadium Australia in the 2003 decider, World Rugby confirmed on Thursday.

Sydney's 83,000-seat Olympic Stadium will once again host a Rugby World Cup final, this time in 2027 and 24 years after the home team was left bitterly disappointed in the championship match against England.

The host cities have even confirmed ahead of the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia, with Sydney announced as host of the Final. Sydney will host the decider for the second time in history following 2003, when England were victors over the Wallabies in extra-time at Accor Stadium, know previously as Stadium Australia.
