Brad Marchand was clearly not at his best in the Bruins’ 6-5 shootout loss to the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. He had trouble handling the puck most of the afternoon and was slow to close on Josh Norris before the Senator scored the tying goal with 12 seconds left in regulation.

Boston Bruins captain and super pest Brad Marchand certainly led his team on Wednesday night. Marchand broke a 2-2 tie with 8:07 left and then added an empty-net goal to give the Bruins a 4-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena.

Bruins captain responds to overtime benching vs. Senators

In a game the Bruins needed a win after giving up a two-goal lead in the third period against the Senators, interim coach Joe Sacco elected to bench Brad Marchand in overtime. Sacco said it was a coach’s decision despite the fact Marchand’s 21 overtime goals are the most in Bruins history and third among active players.
