Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard left Sunday night’s NBA playoff game against the Indiana Pacers with a lower leg injury in the first quarter and did not return.

When Kevin Durant suffered a torn Achilles tendon while playing for the Golden State Warriors in Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals, he ended up missing the entirety of the 2019-20 season. He later told ESPN's Baxter Holmes he had feared the injury would be career-ending.

Last season, the Bucks made the surprising decision to fire coach Adrian Griffin after just 43 games in his maiden stint and replaced him with Rivers. The 63-year-old Rivers led the Boston Celtics to the championship in 2008 but has since failed to duplicate the success.
