SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT- It was an “awesome” day at the Little League World Series. That was a word used often by the Little Leaguers and players with the New York Mets and Seattle Mariners to describe their experience Sunday.

Cardenales Little League from his hometown of Barquisimeto, Venezuela, was representing Latin America in the LLWS.

Just one week ago, New York Mets rookie pitcher Nolan McLean was playing for the AAA Syracuse Mets. On Sunday, he was less than 24 hours off of a stellar Major League debut, throwing 5 1/3 scoreless innings in a Mets win over the Seattle Mariners on Saturday at Citi Field.

The Mets were greeted at the airport in Williamsport on Sunday by plenty of enthusiastic young fans and connected with teams from all over the world.
