Almost a year since Microsoft announced its controversial Recall feature, and after several delays, the company has finally started bringing it to Copilot+ AI PCs today. The launch comes just a few weeks after Microsoft started testing Recall broadly with Windows Insiders.

“When we introduced Recall, we set out to address a common frustration: picking up where you left off,“ explains Navjot Virk, corporate vice president of Windows Experiences at Microsoft. Recall is designed to improve how you search your PC, but taking snapshots that are categorized so it’s easy to search for vague memories instead of file names.

Microsoft Corp. is rolling out its controversial Recall feature to high-end Windows PCs, betting a record of what users do on their computers will be seen as more of a benefit than a privacy risk.
