Tropical Storm Chantal has now been downgraded to a tropical depression after making landfall early Sunday. The storm made landfall near Litchfield Beach, South Carolina, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Chantal made landfall near Litchfield Beach, South Carolina, at approximately 4 a.m. July 6 and is moving inland over northeastern South Carolina.

Tropical Storm Chantal is bringing heavy rains to northeastern South Carolina as it moves north. The National Hurricane Center issued tropical storm warnings for parts of the Carolinas on Sunday.
