While that is great news for the three cities picked, Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham didn't seem all that impressed by the selection and threw some shade at Cleveland and Detroit, calling them cities that not many players would be excited to call home.

The city of Detroit had a WNBA team — three-time WNBA champion Detroit Shock —from 1998-2009 before they moved to Oklahoma until 2015. After six seasons, the franchise moved again — this time to Dallas. The City of Detroit’s official X account fired back at Cunningham’s comments.

Cunningham, the Indiana Fever guard, questioned whether players would be excited to play in Detroit, which was awarded a WNBA franchise Monday.
