Pushed by an anti-LGBTQ+ group called MassResistance, the resolution is sponsored by, Rep. Heather Scott, R-Blanchard, who argued her proposal was about state sovereignty. The resolution asks the nation’s highest court to “restore the natural definition of marriage, a union of one man and one woman.”
The Executive Order SPEED stands for Strategic Permitting, Efficiency, and Economic Development. According to a press release from the Idaho Office of the Governor, the goal of the order is to get better at coordinating state permitting that promotes energy independence. It also focuses on supporting national security and driving the economy.
The bill would also allow tax filers to submit itemized grocery receipts in order to collect a credit of up to $250 per person.
Gov. Brad Little paid a visit to Idaho Falls on Wednesday to talk about the plan he unveiled last week. Little announced his 2025 Keeping Promises Plan during his State of the State address. The Idaho governor discussed his agenda with local media.
