After fumbling a high-profile boxing match last month, most social media users praised Netflix for a smooth broadcast of its first-ever NFL games.

Netflix was on most sports fans' minds when its glitchy, buffering mess of a stream marred the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson boxing match. It was a bad showing. Making it more ominous was that the streamer was set to air a pair of NFL games 40 days later.

Beyoncé provided more excitement than either game during Netflix’s NFL debut on Christmas Day. Riding into her halftime appearance on a white horse, the 32-time Grammy winner rocked her hometown Houston crowd in a nearly 13-minute performance on Wednesday.

The NFL will embark on a new Christmas Day tradition starting this year. Christmas Day games have been played in the past throughout the NFL, but only on special occasions.  That changes Wednesday, as the league will play Christmas Day games in the middle of the week for the first time.

NFL action continues on Netflix on Christmas Day with the second game featuring the Ravens and Texans and a Beyoncé halftime show.

The streaming giant is moving deeper into live programming but faces questions about its ability to host real-time events without a hitch.
