Suns Star Snubbed As NBA All-Star Reserve
The NBA All-Star reserves were announced on Thursday night, and there was a notable absentee from the list: Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker. Instead, Anthony Edwards and James Harden were selected by NBA coaches as the Western Conference guards.
The NBA head coaches have to pick two guards, three frontcourt players and two "wild card" players at any position for the reserves. The West All-Stars have five frontcourt reserves in Davis, Jackson Jr., Sengun, Wembanyama and Jalen Williams.
Booker has now only made the All-Star Game four times in his 10 NBA seasons. He is averaging 25.5 points, 6.7 assists and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 44.4% from the floor and 34.1% from 3-point range in 41 games. The Suns' lowly 24-22 record made it difficult for them to have two All-Star selections.
Ahead of their NBA playoff round one rematch against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Phoenix Suns may be without star forward Kevin Durant and rookie wing Ryan Dunn.
The Suns may feel like acquiring Butler is the only way to fix their broken roster. But they’d only be buying a big headache.
