NASCAR has introduced changes to the iconic Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, for this weekends Xfinity and Cup Series races. After announcing major modifications to the track layout in late 2024, this weekend is the first time fans will see these changes in action.

Daniel Suárez (98.482 sec.) was fastest in Group 1 and will start fifth over Trackhouse Racing teammate Shane Van Gisbergen (98.519 sec.). Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch, Ross Chastain, and Todd Gilliland round out the top 10 starting spots.

The Circuit of The Americas was slated as the sixth race in the Cup Series schedule, but due to the demolition of Auto Club Speedway, the series no longer has its “West Coast Swing.” COTA now moves up to the third race on the schedule, making it the first non-drafting track.
