San Francisco Giants manager Bob Melvin announced that ace pitcher Logan Webb will be the Opening Day starter against the Cincinnati Reds on March 27, per Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.

For a fourth consecutive year, Logan Webb will start Opening Day for the San Francisco Giants. He didn’t hear the news from manager Bob Melvin or anyone on the coaching staff, but on a crawl under the MLB Network broadcast he happened to pass by before his bullpen on Friday afternoon.

Melvin told reporters on Friday morning that Webb will be the Giants’ Opening Day starter against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ballpark on March 27, the fourth consecutive year that Webb has had the honor.
