A Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, belonging to the Ajit Pawar faction, was hacked to death in Mumbai's Byculla area on Saturday night (October 5). The victim, identified as Sachin Kurmi, held the position of taluka president in the party.

Mumbai: Sachin Kurmi, the taluka president of the Ajit Pawar-led faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), was attacked by 2-3 unknown assailants and succumbed to his injuries in the wee hours of Saturday.

The deceased Sachin Kurmi, alias Munna, 45, was the Byculla Vidhan Sabha taluka president of the NCP. According to the police, Kurmi was attacked with a sharp weapon on the chest, neck, hands, and stomach around 1 am on Anant Pawar Road.
