Twitchy Wake Forest Demon Deacons running back Demond Claiborne would be a great addition to the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2026 NFL draft.
According to a report from Dianna Russini of The Athletic, three teams — the Saints, the Cleveland Browns, and the Kansas City Chiefs — are “making calls in search of running back additions.”
The Kansas City Chiefs have a bit of a backfield logjam. The returners include Isiah Pacheco, Kareem Hunt and Carson Steele. Then you add in veteran Elijah Mitchell, brought over after time with the 49ers, and rookie Brashard Smith, who starred at SMU. There probably isn't room for every one of those guys in the RB room.
Between his tenures with the Chiefs, Hunt played for the Cleveland Browns. On Thursday, Patrick Mahomes appeared on the second episode of "The Kingdom." In the episode, he spoke about the Chiefs' controversial decision to re-sign Hunt after his previous scandal.
The Chiefs drafted Brashard Smith in the seventh round out of SMU, so it seems likely he'll make the team, too. Kansas City may keep Carson Steele, too. He's been listed as a fullback.
