Van Gisbergen has won the pole for Sunday’s Grant Park 165. The 36-year-old New Zealander turned a lap at 88.338 mph on a tricky 2.2-mile course that was made more treacherous by temperatures in the 90s Fahrenheit on Saturday.

Mets ace Kodai Senga pitched into the fourth inning Saturday night in a rehab start for Double-A Binghamton against Hartford. Senga allowed four runs, three earned, and six hits while striking out four and walking two in 3 2/3 innings.

A little more than three weeks after straining his right hamstring and landing on the injured list, Kodai Senga returned to the mound Saturday in what could wind up being his only Minor League rehab start.
