NHL commissioner Gary Bettman says any negative effects on the Canadian dollar caused by the Trump administration’s tariffs could be “painful” for the league. Speaking Wednesday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Bettman said the NHL’s seven Canadian clubs perform well and account for 25 per cent of the league’s revenue.
Kevin Connolly, who starred in the hit HBO show “Entourage” and is an Islanders superfan, announced the Isles’ No. 30 overall pick of Brock Nelson that year. The move to a decentralized draft ends the long-running tradition in the NHL in which the entire league and its fanbases came together in one location.
