The Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night signed forward Andrew Mangiapane, 29, to a two-year contract that carries an average annual value of $3.6 million, the club announced, adding a veteran who might be able to fill the slot left behind by Corey Perry.

The Edmonton Oilers bolstered their depth on Wednesday (July 2), signing veteran forward Curtis Lazar to a one-year contract worth $775,000. Lazar, 30, has played 11 seasons in the NHL, totalling 47 goals and 78 assists for 125 points in 572 regular-season games.

Oilers fans would be delighted if Andrew Mangiapane joins the list of top free-agent signings in the years to come.
