Day 7 of the Little League World Series features four elimination games as the tournament in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, inches closer to the final.

On Monday night, Connecticut's Fairfield squad kept its Little League World Series dream alive by defeating Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Connecticut's offense scored 10 runs in the sixth inning on Monday night to put the finishing touches on a 13-1 victory over South Dakota.

Some pitches at the Little League World Series, where the mound is much closer to the batter, would be the equivalent of the fastest MLB pitch ever recorded.

The team from Chihuahua, Mexico will face the team from Tokyo, Japan in the first game of the day. The winning team will advance to play against the winner of the match between Canada and Aruba, scheduled for later in the day.

Fairfield National defeated South Dakota 13-1 to get within one game​ of playing for the U.S. championship in Williamsport.

The Fairfield National Little League team is 2-0 and will face South Dakota Monday night in the Little League World Series.

The Summerlin South Little League team kept its winning streak alive and brought home the victory after scoring the game’s only run in the extra inning. On Monday, Aug. 17, Summerlin South defeated Irmo from South Carolina in the Little League World Series.
