Washington Nationals right-hander Michael Soroka has been placed on the 15-day injured list with a strained biceps in his pitching arm after hurting himself in his first start with the club.

The Nationals placed Soroka on the IL with a right arm biceps strain. In a corresponding move, the team recalled Jackson Rutledge from Class AAA Rochester.
