MIST COAT…it is years ago since I had to paint a freshly plastered wall. So I did a little research (so you don’t have to) and found out why it’s important to do a mist coat. You can use any matt kind of paint to water down but here is more information as to why we should mist coat. Promotes Adhesion: It helps the topcoat paint adhere better to the plaster, ensuring a smooth finish.Seals the Surface: New plaster is highly absorbent, and a mist coat prevents the paint from soaking in too quickly.
