I modded my @johnmayer signature Strat with a set of @emgpickups Gilmour spec loaded pick guard, and it’s now become my favorite Strat. I’ve never played EMG’s before but those pickups paired with the active preamp and boost circuits that David Gilmour had in the red “Pulse Era” Strat really put this guitar over the top for me. I’m calling this the “Gilmourized” Strat and I can’t stop playing it. I’ll be back out on the road next year (more info soon) and this guitar will probably be with me mos

Does David Gilmour own the first “serial numbered” Fender Stratocaster in existence? Well, according to many vintage guitar experts, the answer is a resounding NO. While David’s Strat is indeed numbered 0001, it seems most likely that this guitar was not a standard production item. Most likely, it was a promotional guitar of some sort. The actual first serialized Fender Strat wears the number 0100 and was a much more common burst finish with a white pickguard. The more you know! #Stringjoy #guit
