Leaves, Lesson 4 As we discussed in previous videos, the edge of a leaf blade is called the margin. Separate from being serrated, crenate, etc, a leaf margin can also be lobed. Lobes are like peninsular, finger-like extensions of the blade, between which the valleys, called sinuses, separate the lobes. The number, length, width, and proportions of the lobes on a leaf may all be useful in identifying a tree to species. We will talk about the types of lobes in the future. The next couple weeks wil
