DEC Region 8 Regional Emergency Response Coordinators recently partnered with Wayne County and local responders for Geographic Response Plan (GRP) training. Saturday’s training included learning to use a rope cannon, which threw the rope 100-feet across to the other side of a river. Once launched, others on the opposite bank secured a boom to the rope, which would be used to hold back crude oil or petroleum in the event of a spill. Wayne, Genesee, and Monroe Counties, as well as the city of Roch
