The Fed has backed itself into a corner. It can either force the economy into a crisis by raising rates, or it can let the economy slowly bleed out by keeping rates near zero. What do you think they will do? I think it's obvious that they're bluffing. Of course, the answer to the problem is to get the Fed completely out of the practice of artificially manipulating interest rates and allow rates to go up.
