Yesterday we saw this individual at Ni’ihau; we hadn’t seen him since July. The year prior I thought he was going to lose his eye after I’m assuming a fight with another male monk seal. Glad to see he’s still doing well, because he’s such a sweet monk seal. The personality differences between monk seals is just like humans. Even without the eye injury I could almost identify him off of his goofy sweet personality! There are only an estimated 1600 Hawaiian monk seals left on earth and they are on

They always seem like they have something itching their mouths because I see them jamming their flippers in their mouth a lot. Any thoughts?
